MAKE-UPS
One thing that’s close to any woman’s heart would be make-ups. Me, in particular, I just love it. It makes me happy how one gets to look different and more beautiful after a great make-up session. It started when I learned how to do it myself. Thanks to the personality development I attended in the past with the people from Mary Kay that taught us how.
My favorite though would be lipsticks or lip glosses. It started when I had an “ectopic dermatitis” in college where it affected my lips. The moment it got well, I noticed that it was no longer as moist as it used to be and it went pale. Not that I got red lips then but it never went back to its original texture so I had to resort to lip balms, and other lip products. For my lip balm, I am using Godiva’s Licowhite Lip Gloss. I put it first before putting on anything else on my lips. Then for lipsticks, I patronize local brands because I think that it’s milder (and cheaper) compared to imported ones. I am using Nichido’s lip shimmer. I also get to use imported brands like Maybelline and Clinique (this usually comes from my dear big sister, Loida – thanks to her). I used to have Smashbox’s (thanks to cousin Rima) lip shimmer where my lips would look fuller and moisturized. I forgot the shade already but the feeling every time I would apply it was soothing. It had like a menthol flavor on it.
For my eyes, I have Maybelline’s gel eyeliner, Powder brow-maker, pressed powder, foundation and a make-up remover which is a Must. I also had Smashbox’s blushers and eyeshadows, unfortunately, they were stolen, but it really looked good on me. By the way, I only use foundation and pressed powder during formal events. I still want the natural look even if I am into make-up. Maybe you’re wondering that I am more into Maybelline products. I just think it’s one of the cheapest imported brands that works well with me. For me, the cheaper, the milder it is to one’s skin. I just have a very sensitive skin, thus, I am afraid to try on expensive ones where I am not sure how safe it could be for my skin. For the eye-shadow, I can use any brand because I know how to do the trick on putting it on and making it last.
It’s really fun to put on make-up especially if you’re doing it correctly. If you don’t know how, it’s never too late to learn or you can go to the salon if in need of a make-up artist. In the salon, it is still best to know the kind of look you want because sometimes they just make us overly made up. Here’s what I noticed. If one has prominent features already, like most mestizas, the lesser make-up, the better. But for those who needs to enhance more, a lot could be better but, the time or the kind of occasion should be taken into consideration first and foremost. For a stay at home mom, I don’t think that being so busy as a homemaker is an excuse not to look our best. When we look good, it definitely feels good inside.
COLOR/s
Ever since I can remember, my favorite color has always been blue. There was even a time when I needed to fight myself from looking at blouses or shirts in blue already because I only had different shades of blue in my closet. Until now, blues have the most in number. But lately, I noticed that I am so in love with purple. I am wondering why until now but it’s really warm to the eyes. To prove this, I just bought a digital camera in purple, a wrist watch with a touch of purple, too, and my e-mail accounts in purple shades. I’m sure more purple will be coming into my possession:
